The Progressive Catholic Church (PCC) is a vibrant Old Catholic jurisdiction dedicated to serving the People of God with compassion, humility, and faithfulness to the Gospel. Our Synod of Bishops guides the Church in a spirit of servant leadership, following the example of Christ, who washed the feet of His disciples.

We are a conciliar Church, meaning we are governed collaboratively by our Council of Bishops under the leadership of the Presiding Bishop.

Our apostolic succession flows through historic Old Catholic lines from Utrecht in the Netherlands, as well as from Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox traditions. Rooted in this ancient heritage, the PCC is a welcoming and affirming community seeking to provide a spiritual home where all people can encounter Christ and celebrate the Gospel through a Catholic faith expressed for today’s world.

The PCC is a member of the International Council of Community Churches and is affiliated with the World Council of Churches in Geneva, Switzerland. Our fellowships are located in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, and Italy.

We are called “progressive” because we are an inclusive Church. No one is barred from full participation in the life of the Church, including ordination to the priesthood and membership in our religious orders. In all other respects, we share the historic faith, episcopal ministry, priesthood, sacramental life, and apostolic continuity of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church throughout the world.
